Kaweah MLRP
What is the Kaweah MLRP?
The Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District and regional partners received a $10 million block grant to support land repurposing in the Kaweah Subbasin from the MLRP over three and a half years (August 2022- March 2026). The Kaweah Subbasin MLRP Program is committed to the selection and implementation of multibenefit projects that aim to reduce reliance on groundwater while supporting a viable agricultural economy and improving community and environmental health outcomes.

The Kaweah Subbasin is mainly situated in Tulare County, including the cities of Visalia, Tulare, Lindsay, Farmersville, Exeter, and Woodlake as well as the communities of Plainview, Tooleville, Lemon Cove, West Goshen, Okieville and Waukena. It also includes a small adjacent portion of Kings County. The Kaweah Subbasin is made up of three Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs): the Greater Kaweah GSA, Mid-Kaweah GSA, and East Kaweah GSA. Kaweah MLRP projects must be located in the Kaweah Subbasin.
